Silk Blend Spinnig

Service Description

In this 1 week make-and-take class, participants will learn silk fiber preparation, drafting and spinning basics, as well as other technique variations that separate it from fibers like wool. Participants will be working with silk/wool blend, although various forms of silk will be shown and discussed in depth. Participants need to know how to spin on their spinning apparatus (spindle, wheel, etc.). If participants do not know how to spin and are still interested in taking the class, please reach out to Our Yarn Studio to arrange a one-on-one or beginner lesson so we can get you started spinning silk more effectively. Experience spinning Merino is a bonus but not required. Participants will be provided with: 25 grams silk blend (80% merino wool, 20% mulberry silk) Bring your own spindle or spinning wheel
